Our Precious Shelby was hit by a truck at 10 weeks old and weighing a mere 10 lbs. She was taken to the the Animal Control Center in Owensboro, KY where someone there called It Takes a Village in Evansville. They contacted a Vet in Spencer County who agreed to pick her up and try and Save her life.
Among other injuries, her right hip was destroyed. They performed a procedure where they cut the top section of her femur off and returned her to It Takes a Village for recovery.
My wife and I visited the facility and she reached out of her pen and Kissed my wife’s hand. After that and hearing that no one wanted her because she was considered “damaged goods”, we agreed to Adopt and Rescue Her.
My wife had gone through a long and difficult year with medical issues with me transitioning to a full time care giver. That was Nov of 2022 and in January of 2023 my wife was diagnosed with Cancer!
Little Shelby has been such a Blessing to the both of us as we worked through Cancer Therapy and recovery,
She can now run faster that a squirrel and even her new Vet at Stone Ridge couldn’t tell that she has no right hip.
The end of the story is; the Lord healed our little Shelby, my wife’s cancer and at the end of the day, brought that little girl into My life and Rescued ME!🙏❤🙏
