Our mission is “To work as one in helping animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance, while also supporting the people who love animals.” We are a 501(c)(3) mostly volunteer, no-kill rescue. We have two locations, one in Evansville, Indiana and one in Chrisney, Indiana. We have helped over 10,000 animals since we were created in 2010.

Volunteer Be a Hero

Volunteers are always needed. Be a hero for homeless animals and volunteer.

Dog Day Out is a top choice. Spend time with our dogs outside of the shelter to provide a change of scenery and socialization opportunities. It’s super easy and fun!

Shelter Slumber Pawty

It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue

It Takes A Village is so excited to share that we’re partnering with animal shelters throughout the country (and beyond) for the second annual International Shelter Shelter Slumber Pawty! On Saturday, April 6 hundreds of animal lovers will be side-by-side with shelter pets to raise funds and awareness for community animals. That’s right! ITV's most dedicated supporters will spend 9 hours at our facility walking dogs, promoting shelter pets, eating and “pawting” with our amazing shelter residents while raising money to support our programs.

The ITV Rescue Center will be OPEN late until 7 pm on this Saturday night to promote as many adoptions as possible during this event!!

ITV will be having a Dine Out For Dogs at Hacienda East, 990 S. Green River Road, Evansville, IN 47715 on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Come out and help the homeless animals of ITV while enjoying some great Mexican food!

~ Hacienda will donate 20% of their sales for the entire day (11 am - 10 pm) to ITV for every guest that gives them an ITV coupon or shows the coupon on their phone! Coupons can be printed from this page or picked up at the ITV Rescue Center (1417 N. Stockwell).

~ Purchase of gift cards and takeout orders are included!

State Hospital Grounds

Don't miss the opportunity to participate in our 2024 Pictures in the Park! We are happy to give you an opportunity to have your own private session with photographer, Emilee Kerner! Photos will be at the Master Garden at the Evansville State Hospital grounds. The following dates are available:

Wednesday, May 8, 2024 - 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday, May 9, 2024 - 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Saturday, May 18, 2024 - 12 pm to 4 pm

We will have limited private photo sessions available for your family or your animals. Adults, kids and animals are all welcome. For only $100, you will receive a 30-minute private session taking various shots in a beautiful outdoor setting. After the private session, you will receive a 5-6 digital poses. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. A portion of proceeds with benefit the animals of ITV!! Only a limited number of slots are available each day so hurry to reserve your place!! Don't miss this chance to preserve your family photo in a great outdoor setting while helping the dogs of ITV!!
